It's a Twister! A Twister!

You might have heard that Kansas had a slight weather-related happening over the weekend. This event hit the county I live in particularly hard.

Fortunately, because my county is also sparsely populated, very few people were effected.  I have heard of one homestead in particular basically being destroyed, but true to form the wonderful people in this area all pitched in to help clean-up.

Kansas had 97 tornadoes on Saturday.  Very few people were even injured and none of them seriously, thankfully!

My farm, through complete luck, was spared.  I went to Wichita with Dad and we got caught under a cell on the way home, so while that was kind of hairy we made it home safe and sound.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who weren't as lucky as we were.  There were some terrible losses in Oklahoma simply because a siren didn't go off.  Tornadoes are terrible, sometimes deadly things and all we can do is our best to be prepared and be safe.  I hope that this marks the end of our "tornado season" so we can move on and enjoy our beautiful spring weather!

Glad you and yours are okay. I was thinking about you during the weather stuff this weekend.

As I was on my way out of the stadium Saturday night, I said to one of my fellow writers, "The thing that scares me about tornadoes at this time of night is that I can't see them." Just glad we really didn't get anything in my neighborhood.

I'm glad your place wasn't hit. Those tornados scare the crap out of me. I'll take an earthquake any day, thank you very much.

Glad to hear you're okay - I was wondering if your farm was near the action out there.
