Horses aren't the most cooperative photography subjects (at least the friendly ones like mine). As soon as they spot you they head your way, making it entirely impossible to get a decent shot.
You can try to sneak up on them...
...but all it takes is one to spot you.
Then they let their friends know...
...and here they come.
They cannot be stopped.
Whether it's for food or attention, these horses only have one thing on their minds:
to head your way.
Single file, they relentlessly march on...
...shaking flies as they go...
...until they reach their intended target.
And sometimes even that isn't close enough.
OK, that's close enough.
Paula doesn't beat around the bush about what she wants.
Apparently her need for a good butt scratch trumps my need to photograph her. It doesn't help that she knows what a pushover I am.Swine horse.

Butt scratches are very popular, as is tail rubbing - Pie demands it every time I go to see him.
LOL! I can relate! My horses are very curious too. Taking photos of my "kids" is a real challenge. I find it easier with my pocket camera than my big Nikon as it's easier to hide it. Do they think it is something to eat?
Too funny! Photographing horses certainly takes a lot of patience:)
