Everyone's Dog

Over Labor Day weekend, the dogs and I went out to Colorado to visit family and take a nice vacation from our daily lives.

The only problem was that I barely escaped from Colorado with my dog.

Everyone wanted Russell.

In particular, these two suspicious-looking characters wanted him.

This is my brother Nick and his wife Lauren. They adored Russell.

They thought I took these pictures so that I could preserve their memories with Russell.

Actually, I was recording photographic evidence, just in case I woke up in the middle of the night and Russell was gone.

Yes, they wanted him that much. And who can really blame them? He has plenty of good points....

He plays well with others.

He makes a nice headrest, which is a stronger point than one would think.

He's much more comfortable than, say... a cup holder...

...or the floorboards under the passenger seat.

Russell also makes a very handy arm rest. Leg rest. Appendage rest.

And if you ever need a subject for an "Awwww" picture, look no further. He's your man.

Or dog.

You know what I mean.

Thankfully I got home with Russell...for now. I'm currently shopping for a doggie LowJack. One can never be too careful these days. Apparently cuteness is the only stock still rising.

Investing wisely,
