Couped Up

I'm really getting into this chicken thing.

Tea or coffee? One lump or two?

I originally got them just to have something around that might keep the bug population somewhat checked, but come to find out, they are quite a bunch of characters. Who knew?

Foghorn Leghorn calls the meeting to order. Motions to approve last week's minutes. Eggwena Featherbottom seconds. Motion carried.

When they were babies they were so little, fuzzy, and cute. How fast they've grown!

And shame on me, last week I went into Orschelns to get some feed and low and behold they had baby turkeys (i.e. poults)! Of course I had to get some...six of them, to be exact. I have no idea if they are boys or girls or what, so we'll see what I end up with.

Dad was out last night helping me with some chainsaw work and he mentioned his idea for a chicken coop. He said, since I have turkeys now, he had an idea to have a coop with two sides and two doors.

He said the coop would have to have two doors, because if it had four doors, it would be a chicken sedan.

I know...I know. I had the same reaction.

And now for something completely different.

Now, I would just like to point out that this film is displaying a distinct tendency to become SILLY. Now, nobody likes a good laugh more than I do... except, perhaps my wife... and some of her friends. Oh, yes, and Captain Johnson. Come to think of it, most people like a good laugh more than I do, but that's beside the point! I'm warning this film NOT to get SILLY again! Right!

That video is hysterical! Chickens are a crack up and, as you said, they are characters.

That. Was. Awesome.

I'm scared of turkeys. I ran into a pack of them when I was around seven and they chased me all over the yard.

LOl, I lve your joke. Between you and Lisa (Laughing Orca Ranch) I'm beginning to think these chickens are more than I thought they were cracked up to be.

Oh my goodness! That video was hilarious. These chickens are wonderful -- I love their tea parties and town hall meetings. The chickens I have seen at ranches aren't nearly that sociable with one another -- infact there are roosters only at my ranch (how horrible to have three roosters and no chickens!), and they many only bond when they're attacking people.

I've always said chickens are the comedians of the barn yard. They always make me laugh. Everything seems like such a big deal to them, maybe it's just the look in their eyes.
