Mommas

This weekend has been an absolute whirlwind and tonight, at 9pm, is the first time I've been able to sit down. I have a whole week's worth of posts just from the last two days, but they will have to wait. I'm much too tired and sunburned to put forth that much effort.

Instead, I found these old pictures, from 2007, all taken on the same day. The neat thing about them is that they are all the dams of the horses I have right now.

Bambi's momma (Cilla):

Of course that's Eddie, Bambi's (and Fabian's and Paula's) sire, behind Cilla.

Here is Fabian's dam:

Her name is Seeker. You can see where Fabian gets a lot of his "chunk" from :) I bet you can't guess who's momma this is!

This is Larry, Paula's dam. Sadly I lost her when I leased her out to the wrong person. She was the most amazing mare--EVER. She was also a $300 auction buy. You never know when going to the auction might change your life.

I also took these pictures on the same day and thought they were too cute not to share. This is Cilla (Bambi's momma) and Sully (JJ's momma, if you remember him), when I first turned them out together on the 60-acre pasture I used to rent.

Sully wasn't just prancing...she was acting like she wished she could fly! So very cute....

Sully is in Oklahoma now, and JJ, her son, is in Colorado in training to be a youth horse.

I loved all these horses so much, and I feel very proud to own their babies. I look around my place and see not just my horses. I see family.

Goodnight John Boy,

Wow, Fabian looks a lot like his momma, and I see where Paula gets her good looks from!

They're all very good looking horses. Sounds like you've been putting in long but productive days.
