It's called Lose It For Animals. Horses Plus Humane Society in California has put together a fabulous program that is the closest thing to surgically excising the fat off me and putting it on my horses as will ever be possible.

This program helps in so many ways! First, it helps Horses Plus Humane Society help more horses in need. Second, it motivates me because as most people know, I'm a lot more passionate about helping horses than minimizing my own waistline. This puts much-needed pressure on me to stay on track with my dieting because I know if I fail, I not only let myself down, but the horses as well. Third, it will help Paula...

Poor, poor Paula begs of you to please help her owner lose weight. She's tired of carrying around tub-o.
And last, but not least, Sophie also begs you to help make her owner smaller. She's tired of me taking up too much of the bed.
I am also looking into some sort of countdown for my sidebar so you can help keep track of my weight loss with me!
Currently, my sponsors are:
Me (had to get the ball rolling :).......$2/pound
Frederic Gutknecht............................$1/pound
Shannon Mazourek.............................$1.50/pound
Vicki Morgan.......................................$1/pound
(Thank you!!!!!)
In addition to this great program, Horses Plus also received a terrific challenge from All Road Sat. For every person who goes vegan for a week (up to 100), All Road Sat will donate $20.11 to the organization. I attempted to start mine last Friday but it didn't work out with visitors in town, so I'm starting today. It's tough to go vegan in an area where the cattle population outnumbers the human population, but I'm going to do my best for the horses! If you'd like to do the challenge, please contact Horses Plus and let them know you're up for the challenge!

#25 on my 101 things in 1001 days list is "Be a vegetarian for a week," so this will help me cross that off my list as well (and go a little above and beyond--I can't believe I'm going to go a week without CHEESE!!), so this challenge is yet another win/win!

Wow I definitely couldn't be a Vegan... maybe go without meat for a week but that's it. Wow! You go girl!
It's been difficult, but I was making it harder than I had to--I thought I couldn't have bread! LOL Bread is a go, so that will help a lot. I can live off of PB&J if I have to :)
Good luck on your weight goal! I'd like to drop 10 lbs myself. I tell myself that it isn't fair to Jackson - working on keeping him fit while I reach for another helping of bread and cheese (huge weaknesses for me).
Thank you, Annette. I should have done it a long time ago, but easier said than done, right?
I'll sponsor you, $1.50 a pound sound good?
Sorry but I can't go vegan for a week, vegetarian sure, but not vegan. I need my dairy products! I also enjoy eating things made with eggs, like cookies and key lime pie.
Whoops, hope I didn't set you back there ;)
Thank you so much Shannon!! That would be wonderful!
Ugh, the second day of being a vegan in central Kansas is slowly becoming hell on earth. I'm like you, I could definitely go vegetarian, but no cheese, eggs, or milk is really killing me. And no worries--I was set back a long time ago! LOL But, I lost 4 pounds already, so not having anything available for me to eat seems to be working pretty well! LOL
