URGENT--Great mare in need of Great home!

I found something that made my heart sink today. Eddie's dam is in desperate need of a good home.

She's $1250 and in Missouri. Please contact me if you're interested and I'll let you know who has her. This mare produced the greatest horse I've ever owned. If I had the means I'd be in my rig headed that way right now, but to my greatest regret I just don't. If you're able, please help her out and give her the home she deserves if you can.

Oh, no! I hope she gets into a good home, fast!

Thanks, Amy Lou. I know it's a shot in the dark, but she's 19 and needs a home where she'll be well-cared for.

Sorry to hear this. It just doesn't seem to be a good time for horses all the way around right now. Hope you have some luck in finding a placement for her.

Yes, I am really scared for her considering the circumstances. She really needs a great home and is deserving of one.

Aargh, so many horses out there needing homes and I can't give it to them. I hope someone comes through for her.

I know, Shannon, it's heartbreaking, isn't it? It only gets worse and not better over time, which is why I quit breeding them. I can't even hardly keep the ones I bred or owned safe, let alone other horses that I "know."

This makes me so sad. I wish I could help but right now our rescue Sami is living in the grooming stall.Hope she finds a caring home.

Jessie, I have forgotten the breeding on your Eddie horse. Is there quite a bit of Three Bars on this dam's side? We had a grandson of Three Bars that looked so much like this little mare. Looks like an exceptionaly nice mare. We don't use mares but I sure like the way she looks and she must have thrown some disposition for you to like Eddie so good too, eh?

Thanks, Grey. I hope she will end up in a great place, too.

CCC, she does have some Three Bars breeding. She goes back 4x--twice through Impressive, then through Zippo Pat Bars and Skybar Chief. Here is her pedigree: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/fabulous+too She's a daughter of Luck Too who took 3rd at AQHA World in Halter, a granddaughter of AQHA Hall of Fame horse Jackie Bee, a granddaughter of AQHA Champion Impressive Too, and a great-granddaughter of a 3/4 sister to Zippo Pine Bar, and a great-granddaughter of AQHA Champion Bar Cliff. Fabulous Too also has 13 AQHA halter points herself. I'm not sure what she's been used for all these years. Eddie is her only AQHA-registered foal (he was double-registered). I agree--she has to be some mare to produce such a good tempered stallion like Eddie was. He's passed along such wonderful minds to his kids (like Paula being so amazing in the crowded arena) that he had to have gotten at least a little of that from his momma. His sire was a great horse as well, but it takes two, right? :)
