Around the Farm

It's been a couple of days since I've posted current photos. We've had several days of threatening weather, so rather than try to cover any one topic in particular, I just thought I'd post some random photos I took tonight.

Random can be fun, right?

Well, it's as good of an excuse for poor lighting and a crappy camera than any!

First (of course) is Paula. She insists. She's the queen and she knows it....

Check out those brown spots! She's getting her flea-bites already. She's going to look so much like her momma soon.

The locus trees are the highlight of the farm right now, with their beautiful flowers.

It's too bad they're so thorny. Otherwise, they'd be super-nice trees.

Then my garden. This is my very first garden and so far it's been great! Here's part of it: cabbage, banana peppers, bell peppers and tomatoes.

Here are my zucchini and cucumber I just planted. They seem to be settling in nicely, despite the cool, stormy weather.

Not pictured are more peppers and tomatoes, onions, and garlic. Yum!!!

If you saw the post about Suzie's poor baby, you might have been wondering how she's been doing since that tragedy. Well, the girl's been great, really. All she's had to do is eat and be loved on, and she's been just fine with that.

Suzie will go down to Texas soon and we'll be welcoming Bonnie, a lovely black AQHA mare. My good friend Vicki will give Suzie a terrific home, and we won't have to worry about any lethal white foals this way. I'll miss this girl, but she'll be in fabulous hands!!

Whoa, Paula. Watch that butt!!!

What can I say, she loves her butt-scratches.

Here's my latest project:

This is an old garage that has seen better days. We're going to re-roof and paint it and it will serve as a nice hay shed for me.

First, though, I have to tear off the old roof and the building behind it goes bye-bye as well.

Charlie is a bit camera shy.

He got a brush, bath, and trim last night. Isn't he a handsome boy?

Speaking of handsome boys....

Eddie is still having problems with his leg, unfortunately, but we're hanging in there. Obviously it hasn't affected his appetite!

And this is NOT why he has the munchies:

Don't call the cops, people. This is just ditch weed and it grows wild, ALL over the place out here. It's kind of pretty, though. Isn't it?

And no, I'm not smokin'...I'm just high on life, baby.

Over and out.

I hope Eddie gets better.
